KIWA builds a foundation for social change and works to improve the lives of immigrant workers in Koreatown's low-wage industries through organizing, policy advocacy, leadership development, and services.
In response to a wave of growth in Koreatown that has brought upscale shops and residences to the neighborhood, KIWA has broadened its focus to include equitable development rules, housing and neighborhood rights, and community planning that involves the entire community. In order to enable workers and residents in Koreatown to contribute to the social, cultural, and economic advancement of their neighborhood, KIWA combines strategic collaborations with grassroots activism.
